Cao Minh Phuong

Phuong pursued his B.S at Hanoi University of Science and Technology, majored in Computer Science. Prior to studying at UIUC, he spent 1 year working on ZingMe social network at VNG Corporation. He also worked 3 years at Bach Khoa Internetwork Security Center (BKIS).

He was granted several scholarship including American Chamber of Commerce scholarship and FPT Technology Center for Young Talents (FYT) scholarship.

In 2010, he was nominated the VEF fellowship. He applied for 22 schools in fall 2010 and got admitted to 6 schools. He will be going to University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign to work as an Research Assistant in fall 2011.

Phuong shares that his key to success are mentorship, teamwork and networking. He is willing to help anyone in the application process: from taking standardized tests to contacting professors.
