Le Ha Trung

Le Ha Trung was educated in anthropology and development studies at University College Utrecht, a liberal arts college in the Netherlands. During his undergraduate studies, he conducted fieldwork in Thailand and Cambodia, and became interested in development issues -- particularly those related to gender equality and cultural development.
Since returning to Vietnam in 2007, Trung has worked with the United Nations in different capacities. He started out as a program officer in culture and a gender focal point for UNESCO. He is now a freelance consultant, who is developing culture projects, evaluating gender programs, and conducting qualitative research on masculinities for UNESCO, UN Women and UNFPA, respectively.
In fall 2011, Trung will be attending George Washington University (GW) to pursue a master's degree in International Development Studies. At GW he plans to focus on culture and gender issues in developing countries from an interdisciplinary perspective. Trung is a recipient of Fulbright Scholarship and GW's Global Leaders Fellowship.
