Tran Vu Hoai

Tran Vu Hoai joined Galaxy as its Managing Partner in 1995 and has been Managing Director since January 2000, responsible for the expansion of the company into new foreign investment related services including PR services.
Hoai has acquired a deep understanding of the local business and political environment as a result of his many years working in and with different government agencies in the areas of investment and trade, including Ministry of Planning and Investment, Ministry of Trade, Chamber of Commerce and Industry, Ministry of Finance. Hoai has been instrumental in helping a large number of multinationals set up and develop their business and corporate images in the emerging market of Vietnam in such sectors as consumer products, services, insurance, and telecommunications. Major clients that he has been working with include IFC, World Bank, Intel, Microsoft, Citibank, Jardine Matheson Group, Mitsubishi, Boeing, and Ericsson to name a few.
Hoai holds a B.A in International Commerce (Dean’s List) from Hanoi Foreign Trade College (Vietnam) and an M.B.A. from Harvard Business School (USA) under a 2-year World Bank scholarship and by the U.S. Government funded Fulbright Program. His working experiences with multinationals and international institutions include: Office Manager of BHP Minerals Limited (1991); Senior Consultant of KPMR – Barent Group for its UNDP-funded equitization project in Vietnam (1995); and Lecturer for Harvard Institute of International Development (HIID)’s Economics Teaching Program in Ho Chi Minh City (1995-1998).
Hoai sits on the board of SUN&CO as its chairman and of CRAFTLINK.
